Target audience research
The target audiecne that my magazine will be aimed will be young people and teenagers aged from 13 to 16. Other magazines that i have anazlysed which would help me and are similar to mine such as the magazine called Sugar with Selena Gomez on the front. I can do this by creating a magazine which would appeal to that age group with good images and appealing images and information.
Double page spread research 2
This is a double page spread from Billboard magazine. The maim image is of Miley Cyrus sitting on the floor. It is the only image on the page so it is the first thing you see and what you focus on. This is aimed at young girls who are fans of Miley and who have grown up with her and want to know more. The image is based in the middle with the words 'Girl, you'll be a woman soon' on the side of her. The word 'girl' is written in pink and 'woman' is written in black. This shows the transformation of her changing from a girl to a woman. The two words are on either side of her and she is in the middle which suggests she may be trapped as she is nearly a woman but not quite yet.
The mise-en-scene is very simple so you just focus on Miley and are not distracted by anything else. She is wearing plain black clothes, black legging and black heels. It makes her look grown up and sophisticated and shows her transfering from a girl to a woman.

This double page spread is from a magazine called Sugar. A large image of Selena Gomez is used on one half of the double page and is the first thing you see which means she is the main focus of the page. You then see the large headline on the right hand side stating ''i go through the same issues as everu other teen girl.''

Contents Page research 2
The music genre of this magazine pop. You can tell this as the image used is of teen singer Selena Gomez and she mainly sings pop songs.
The target audience of this magazine is young girls aged 12 till about 15. You can tell this by reading what each page is about. It mainly talks about boys and relationship problems that young girls would be going through such as not knowing ff they boy is just a mate.
The main image on the contents page is Selena Gomez, who is also on the cover of this particular magazine. She is a good role model and is looked up to by a lot of girls. They would want to buy this magazine if they want to be like her. The story about her states the caption ''Boys haven't always been nice to me.'' This is something that other girls reading this will agree with and want to read on if they relate to it.
The image of Gomez is the largest thing on the page and the first thing you see. She is also on the cover which shows she is the main selling point of the magazine. All the writing is around the edge which means you see the image first and then you read on around the edge.
The Mise-en-scene of the image is very simple. The clothes Gomez is wearing are very simple, fashionable and feminine and are easily something young girls could copy. They are not very revealing and are suitable for young girls this magazine is intended for. She is also wearing natural makeup with red lipstick which is also something other girls could copy.
The colours used on this magazine are very plain as a white background is used but it is still very effective as it looks stylish. They also used girly colours such as light pink for her clothes. In the title at the top they have used black and pink which is very simple but they go very well together and stand out.
The image relates to the target audience as Gomez is of a similar age to the target audience so they can relate to her. They may also be able to relate to the story that goes with it.

The target audience of this magazine would be men and women in there 20s. The men would be attracted to the image on the cover but you can see by the taglines that it it mainly aimed at women as it says 'fashion.' This suggests that women are more interested in fashion and this is what they may want to read about to get more up to date on it.
The main image on this page is of Ciara lying down wearing heels with not much clothes. All the writing is surrounding her which means she is the main selling point of this page and they want the audience to focus on her. She is wearing plain white clothing with silver jewellery and heels. She looks very wealthy and sophisticated and very confident in her body which is shown by her seductive pose. This may attract young girls who look up to her and want to be like her and young men who may be attracted to her.

Magazine Research 2
The music genre of this magazine is Hip Hop. The target audience of this magazine is anyone interested in hip hop music and want to find out more. This is usually teenage girls and boys and older males. This particular magaizne is aimed at females as by the strapline. The tagline states ''Eye candy of the year!'' They then give names of the 'eye candies' such as Lil Wayne, Nelly, and Bow Wow. This are are all mens names which many females would be attracted too.
The main image on the front cover is of 50 Cent. This would atrract some females who are attracted to him and would want to read more about him. This relates to the music genre as the style of 50 Cent's music is Hip Hop. The image is the largest thing on the cover and the first thing you see. This is eyecatching and poweful as it looks liek he is looking right at you. It is a close up shot of his face and the only thing you can see is his face. The way he is posing makes you instantly look at his eyebrow because of they way it is positioned. 50 Cent looks quite laidback and chilled which suggests he doens't have much to care about.
The mise-en-scene is very simple and not much of it. All you can see is a bit of his black jacket. There is no make up or props involved which shows they don't want any distractions.The cover of this is very simple and is just focusing solely on 50 Cent. Suggesting the interview on this will just focus on him and nothing else. The tagline that goes with the image 'The power of 50' links with the image as it it saying he is powerful and this goes with the image as he looks quite powerful in this image.
The colours used in this are all quite dark colours. Such as black jacket and a dark navy blue for the background. The writing around the edge are all black and white. This makes the mood of the magazine quite mysterious and makes you want to know more about it. The thing that stands out the most is the title 'XXL 'which is the only thing in red. The cover is very simple with not much writing on there but only talks about the 'eye candy' and the tagline about 50 and the title. This causes people to focus on the image first and then the writing around the edge. This suggests the main selling point of this magazine is 50 Cent as he is in demand and people want to read more about him. Looking at other issues of this magazine you can see that 50 Cent has been on a few covers of it which shows he is popular and in demand.

Magazine research 1
The main image is of Justin Bieber. Even though his music is pop it shows how in demand he is that he is wanted on the cover of a rock magazine too. He is wearing a leather jacket with spikes, a vest top and a chain. His hair is messy and all over the place which represents the rocky style. Usually Bieber is represented as a sweet and innocnet kid but this cover shows him transfromed into a older looking out of control boy. This may help if he is trying to recreate his image. The magazaine is rock and the image relates to this as you can see the rocky style in his black and white clothes and chain.
The image is a medium close up shot of Bieber and is the largest thing in the middle of the page so it is the first thing you see and the most eye catching. This is the first thing the audience would see and would be the most attracted to buy it.
The mise en scene shows Bieber wearing a very rocky style of clothing such as a leather jacket. The image shows the jacket half way down his shoulders which some teenage girls would find attractive.
You can see by the colours used, red, black and white that it is mainly aimed at males as magazines aimed at females are usually pink or feminine colours. The image relates to the target audiecne as this what many teenagers girls are attracted and will want to buy the magazine. Bieber's style of music is usually pop so the fact that he is wanted on a rock magazine shows how much in demand he is.
The magazine is called The Rolling Stone. This shows this is a rock magazine as there is also a famous band from the 1960's called The Rolling Stone. So people who have heard of that band may instantly link the magazine with it too.
By the straplines you can see the magazine is usually aimed at older people as they give stories such as 'How Wall Street crooks evaded jail.' This sounds like it is aimed at older people as it sounds like a interesring story about crime that they are more likely to be interested in. Another strapline 'Return of Beavis and Butt-heads' shows that people who are a little older may know about this and may be intereseted to know it's back.
